International Day of the Girl
The first ever International Day of the Girl has been declared an annual UN day and will take place on 11th of October of every year from 2012. The focus is on child marriage and the harmful effects it has on women, girls and families under the slogan "Too Young to Wed - End of Child Marriage"

International Day of Non-Violence
The birth date of Mahatma Ghandi has been declared the International Day of Non-Violence. This year, the UNFPA GCC Area Office and the Y-PEER Oman network collaborate with the Raja Yoga Centre for Self Development in Oman to celebrate this day and advocate for peace and non-violence.
