On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) and its 1994 Programme of Action, UNFPA Arab States Regional Office, ESCWA, and the League of Arab States, in partnership with the International Planned Parenthood Federation - Arab World Region, are organizing the sixth regional review conference on the implementation of the 2013 Cairo Declaration ten years after its adoption.
The conference provides a platform for member States to share best experiences and success stories, discuss achievements made in the area of population and development, identify relevant gaps and challenges, and propose solutions to enhance the contribution of relevant stakeholders in the implementation of the Declaration.
The event is the culmination of a series of activities implemented within the context of the sixth ICPD regional review process. The Secretary General's report on the sixth review of ICPD will be presented to the Commission on Population and Development in April 2024.
