The United Nations Population Fund in GCC (UNFPA GCC) in co-operation with the Ministry of Social Development of Oman conducted a 3-days training workshop on the human rights/women rights reporting mechanisms on 19th to 21st of June, 2023.

The in-depth training which was attended by more than 40 participants from several relevant ministries and national entities, addressed several areas of work in relation with the UN reporting mechanisms related to women rights. The sessions included multiple presentations on the women rights in international conventions and Resolution 1325, the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and other international agreements in this regard. On other hand, the training provided hands-on exercises on the modality of reporting, the report sections and the required government inputs. Finally, the most recent CEDAW report of Oman was reviewed by the participants to discuss its goals and outcomes and address the recommendations proposed for future national reports.
