On the 8th of March, 2021, UNFPA GCC marked International Women Day with a national press conference. UNFPA GCC Representative, Mr. Karl Kulessa, received several journalists from prominent media outlets in the country. He addresses the woman status in Oman and the progressive vision of the country's leadership which paved the way ahead of the Omani women to be part of the decision-making process of the country.
When answering the media professional's questions, Mr. Kulessa highlighted this year's theme of the day which is "choose to challenge", and he stated that "in very challenging circumstances, women showed much resilience in the region". "They fought the pandemic and support their families, took the burden of the COVID-19, and worked as frontliners to provide support to those in need," he added.
