UNFPA in collaboration with the Y-PEER Oman network are to begin participation in Muscat festival on the 15th of February 2012.
The UNFPA GCC Area office in collaboration with the Y-PEER Oman network will begin participation in the annual Muscat Festival, from the 15th of February until the end of the festival period (24th of February).
The activities will take place inside the Municipality building which is located next to the main festival building in Qurum Natural park, which will be held every evening from 5pm onwards.
This initiative will include awareness activities on HIV as well testing and counseling, in collaboration with MOH as well as awareness on various population issues related to the UNFPA mandate in collaboration with the Y-PEERs. One highlighted activity this year is the global 7 Billion Campaign, which aims to educate and inform the world about the implications challenges and opportunities of a world with 7 billion people - and counting.
