As the United Nations intensifies its humanitarian efforts to respond to the ongoing crisis in Syria and Yemen, UNFPA's Sub-regional Office for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries, in cooperation with UNFPA Arab States Regional Office (ASRO) is currently negotiating two major grants with the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD) and King Salman Center (KSC), in order to ensure safe birth for pregnant women and to prevent and respond to gender-based violence affecting distressed women in both countries
